 COME OUT FOR THE BLUES THIS WEEKEND!
This Sunday, the BLUES SOCIETY of CENTRAL PA presents the BLUES CHALLENGE. Come on out and root for your favorite band! The winners will compete in the INTERNATIONAL BLUES CHALLENGE in Memphis in February of 2009!
Last year's winner The Don Johnson Project will compete again along with 9 other bands!
This is a great time...with even better music!
WHEN: This SUNDAY, September 7th. Doors open at Noon. (Bands compete from 2:30PM until 7:30PM.)
WHERE: The STEELTON VFW. 747 North Front Street. (Route 230.)

Must be 21 with Proper ID

 THE GUYS FROM THE OLD "Da Bears" SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE SKIT WOULD LOVE THIS NEWS -when they're visiting PITTSBURGH.
Coming soon to the Pittsburgh area...Mike Ditka. He's bringing his namesake restaurant to his native Western PA.
Officials at Pittsburgh-based Restaurant Holdings say a restaurant in Robinson Township is being renovated into a MIKE DITKA'S STEAKHOUSE. There are already two in Chicago. The new one is scheduled to open in Mid-October.
Mike Ditka is a native of Carnegie, attended school in Aliquippa and played football for the University of Pittsburgh.

Lebanon Bologna...A Dirty Job?

 SELTZER'S LEBANON BOLOGNA...yummy! But is it a "Dirty Job?"
The folks from the Discovery Channel's "Dirty Jobs" think so.
 Mike Rowe and the crew were in Palmyra and Lebanon last month to film a segment.
No word yet on when it will air, probably sometime next year.

 WHAT A NICE WEEKEND FOR KAYAKING!
I went out in the Susquehanna River kayaking on Sunday. A spectacular day! We got to see an American Bald Eagle, too. Actually, I see one just about every time I go out...they seem to favor an area called New Buffalo in Perry County. It's wonderful to see them after they were almost extinct. DID YOU HAVE A GREAT LABOR DAY WEEKEND?
